Quarndon is one of Derby's most affluent villages, sitting on the wooded slopes north-west of Allestree. The housing stock is dominated by larger detached homes — often four to six bedrooms — set on generous plots along Burley Lane, Church Road, Kedleston Road and the lanes off it. Many properties date from the late Victorian and Edwardian periods, with substantial original features still intact.
