What we focus on
A sanitising clean is different from a general deep clean. We're working through the house in a specific order, starting with high-touch points and working out, using EN-tested disinfectants on the surfaces that matter most for transmission.
- Touchpoints throughout the house
Door handles, light switches, taps, banister rails, fridge handles, kettle handles, remote controls, phone surfaces, keyboards. These get the bulk of the attention.
- Bathrooms
Full disinfection of toilet, flush handle, seat, sink, taps, shower controls, bath taps. Floors mopped with disinfectant. Towels bagged for hot wash if you'd like.
- Kitchen
Worktops, cabinet handles, fridge interior and exterior handles, microwave touchpad, oven controls, kettle, taps, bins. Floors mopped with disinfectant.
- Bedrooms (if requested)
Bedding stripped and bagged for hot wash, mattress vacuumed, headboard wiped, bedside touchpoints disinfected, floors vacuumed and mopped where hard surface.
- Soft furnishings
Sofa cushions vacuumed, throws bagged for wash, blankets and cushion covers ready for laundry. We won't shampoo upholstery on a sanitising visit unless it's been visibly soiled.
- Air freshening
Once the disinfection's done, the property is ventilated thoroughly so chemical residue doesn't linger.
When to book it
Best time is on the day the unwell person returns to normal activity, or the day before someone is discharged from hospital. We're flexible on timing because these calls often need to happen quickly, and we keep some same-week slots free for them.
If you're cleaning specifically before a vulnerable person comes back home — elderly parent, newborn, immunocompromised family member — let us know when you book. We'll prioritise low-fragrance, sensitive-skin-safe products and add extra attention to bedrooms and bathrooms.
What this isn't
We're domestic and commercial cleaners, not a clinical biohazard service. For situations involving heavy contamination (extensive bodily fluids, infectious disease outbreak in a healthcare setting, post-mortem cleaning), you need a specialist firm. We'll point you to one if that's the situation. For ordinary household illness — even unpleasant strains of norovirus or flu — a focused sanitising clean is exactly what we do.
What it costs
Charged at our standard £25 per hour. Most 2 to 3 bed homes are 3 to 5 hours for a focused sanitising visit, so £75 to £125. Larger homes or full bedroom resets typically run £150 to £200. Quoted before booking, no surprise charges on the day.
