How much does sofa cleaning cost in Derby?
Sofa cleaning in Derby costs £25 to £35 for an armchair, £40 to £50 for a two-seater, £50 to £70 for a three-seater and £70 to £100 for a corner sofa. Dining chair seats are £5 to £10 each. Products, equipment and travel inside Derby are included, and you get a fixed quote before we start.
Sofa and upholstery cleaning in Derby
A sofa is the most used piece of furniture in the house, and it shows. Body oils darken the arms and headrest, crumbs and dust work down into the seat, and a spilt drink leaves a mark that never quite goes. Vacuuming helps on the surface but it does not lift what has settled into the fabric.
Sarah and the team clean sofas, armchairs and dining chairs in homes across Derby. For most fabrics we use hot water extraction, which works a cleaning solution into the fabric and pulls it straight back out with the dirt it has loosened. You are left with a fresher, cleaner sofa that is only slightly damp.
You pay a fixed price per piece, and we bring the products and equipment ourselves. Travel inside Derby is included, and we are available seven days a week from 9am to 9pm. See where we work on our areas page.
When to book sofa cleaning
- The arms and headrest have gone shiny or dark from daily use
- A spill has dried into the seat cushion and the mark has not shifted
- A dog or cat sits on the sofa and the smell is starting to show
- You have bought a second-hand sofa and want it fresh before it goes in the lounge
- You are selling or leaving a property and want the soft furnishings to match the carpets
- Someone in the house reacts to dust and the sofa is where they spend their evenings

- • Armchairs
- • Two-seater, three-seater and corner sofas
- • Dining chair seats

How we clean a sofa
1. Fixed quote
Call us on 07491 874921, or send a photo of the sofa on WhatsApp. We confirm the price before any work begins, so you know exactly what you will pay.
2. Care label check
Every sofa has a care label, usually under a seat cushion. W means water-based cleaning, S means solvent only, W/S means either, and X means vacuum only. We read the code before we touch the fabric.
3. Vacuum and patch test
We vacuum the sofa thoroughly, including under the cushions and along the seams. Then we test the cleaning solution on a hidden patch to check the colour holds.
4. Stain pre-treatment
Marks and stains are treated before the main clean. Pet stains and odours get an enzyme treatment.
5. Hot water extraction
We clean the seats, backs, arms and cushions, extracting the dirty water as we go so the fabric is not left soaked.
6. Drying
Sofas and upholstery usually dry in 4 to 6 hours. Keep the room ventilated and wait until the fabric is dry to the touch before sitting down.

Is it worth having your sofa professionally cleaned?
Usually, yes. A professional clean on a three-seater costs £50 to £70, while a new sofa costs hundreds or more. If the frame and cushions are in good shape and the problem is dirt, smells or marks, cleaning gives you a sofa that looks and smells fresher for a fraction of the price.
It is less worthwhile if the fabric has worn through, the cushions have collapsed or a stain has bleached the colour out. Cleaning removes dirt, not damage. If we think that is the situation, we say so before we start.
Hot water extraction beats a hired machine or a bottle of foam from the supermarket because it takes the dirty water back out again, instead of leaving it in the cushion.
Fabrics we may not wet clean
Not every fabric can take water. If the care label says X, or the patch test shows the colour running, we do not wet clean it. We tell you before we start and recommend a specialist.
Leather needs different treatment from fabric, so ask us when you book and tell us what the sofa is made of.
Pets on the sofa? Pet stain and odour treatment is £15 to £25 per affected area. Our guide to pet stains explains how the enzyme treatment works.
Book your sofa with other cleaning
If you are already having your carpets cleaned, we can do the sofa in the same visit. The same goes for a deep clean or an end of tenancy clean. Have a look at some recent jobs to see the kind of work we do.
Every job is covered by our 100% satisfaction guarantee. Tell us within 48 hours if you are not happy and we come back to put it right.
Common questions about sofa cleaning
How much does sofa cleaning cost in Derby?
An armchair is £25 to £35, a two-seater sofa £40 to £50, a three-seater sofa £50 to £70 and a corner sofa £70 to £100. Dining chair seats are £5 to £10 each. Products, equipment and travel inside Derby are included, and you get a fixed quote before we start.
How long does a sofa take to dry?
Sofas and upholstery usually take 4 to 6 hours to dry. Open a window or keep the room ventilated, and avoid sitting on the sofa until it is completely dry to the touch.
Is it safe to clean my sofa with water?
We check the fabric care label before anything else. W means water-based cleaning, S means solvent only, W/S means either, and X means vacuum only. We also do a hidden patch test. If your fabric is not safe to wet clean, we tell you before we start and recommend a specialist.
Can you clean pet stains and smells from a sofa?
Yes. We use an enzyme treatment on pet stains and odours. It is £15 to £25 per affected area, added to the cost of the clean.
Do you clean leather sofas?
Leather is different from fabric, so please ask when you book. Tell us what the sofa is made of and we will let you know what we can do.
How often should a sofa be professionally cleaned?
Once a year suits most households. A busy family home, a sofa used daily or a house with pets may need it more often. A sofa in a spare room can go longer between cleans.
Can I book a sofa clean with a carpet clean?
Yes. We can do your sofa, upholstery and carpets in one visit, and it can be added to a deep clean or an end of tenancy clean. If something goes wrong with the result, tell us within 48 hours and we come back to put it right.
